Seen this? “Is John Key shonky?” You Tube clip taken before 2008 election over Tranz Rail complaint to Police / SFO – then private prosecution?

Seen this?

“Is John Key shonky?”

www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFTYZVQo-A8&feature=related

You Tube clip taken before the 2008 election where I explain why I made a complaint to the Police and Serious Fraud Office over John Key and Tranz Rail?

That when neither the Police nor the SFO chose to investigate John Key’s attempt to flush out commercially sensitive information about Tranz Rail through an OIA and complaint to the Ombudsman, at a time he had an undisclosed pecuniary interest – I took a private prosecution under s228 of the Crimes Act?

www.legislation.govt.nz/act/public/1961/0043/latest/DLM330230.html?search=ts_act_Crimes+Act+1961_resel&p=1#DLM330230

228 Dishonestly taking or using document

Every one is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 7 years who, with intent to obtain any property, service, pecuniary advantage, or valuable consideration,—

(b) dishonestly and without claim of right, uses or attempts to use any document.
_________________________________________________________________________________________

That despite the continuous onslaught of ‘MAN ON THE MOON’ headlines against Winston Peters and NZ First – there was not ONE sentence in the NZ Herald about my complaints to the Police or SFO, or my private prosecution against John Key?

Is that how democracy works in NZ?

We get the Government the majority of big business want us to have – through manipulation of mainstream media?

John Key drops 8 points as leader in the TVNZ poll but National is ‘unscathed’ over proposed asset sales? yeah right

www.nbr.co.nz/article/national-strong-polls-nn-86491

“TVNZ-Colmar Brunton and 3News polls last night showed National was unscathed despite its proposal to partially sell state-owned assets.”

“Prime Minister John Key was still first choice for prime minister in both political polls, despite taking an 8-point hit in the TVNZ poll to 48 percent.”

Hmmmm………… Prime Minister John Key takes an ‘8-point hit in the TVNZ poll’….. doesn’t quite sound like National was ‘unscathed’ over its ‘proposal to partially sell state-owned assets’?

I notice that the John Key /National Government PR spin machine has gone into turbo-drive.

The majority of New Zealanders have not had a collective frontal lobotomy, and do remember that what is good for big business is usually not good for most of us, and HATE the ‘P’ word – “PRIVATISATION”.

So – John Key has moved away from mentioning the word ‘privatisation’ (partial or otherwise) and the term now referred to is ‘mixed ownership’…..

Good try – but sorry John – it won’t work.

It is my prediction that the John Key ‘ordinary bloke’ honeymoon is well and truly over.

As John Key’s ‘true blue’ corporate raider colours increasingly show through his carefully spin-doctored packaging – his (and National’s) slide in the polls will continue.

Hopefully dramatically.

The most ‘dramatic’ poll result would be if I were to be elected as the new MP for Botany on my clear anti-privatisation /anti-corruption ‘Public Watchdog’ platform.

What is this John Key-led National Government doing about all those lazy corporate welfare beneficiary ‘bums’?

www.nbr.co.nz/article/key-stands-some-poor-make-poor-choices-foodbank-comment-nn-86501

What is this John Key-led National Government doing about all those  lazy corporate welfare beneficiary ‘bums’?

Exactly how many consultants and private contractors (the ‘contractocracy’) are there employed across all State sectors, compared with in-house employees (the ‘bureaurocracy’)?

Where’s the ‘cost-benefit’ analysis that proves that paying all these private ‘piggies in the middle’ – guzzling at the central and local government public troughs, is a more ‘cost-effective’ use of public monies?

Surely cutting corporate welfare for the greedy would free up public monies for the needy?

If the voting public of Botany elect me – I’ll act as a ‘Public Watchdog’ from INSIDE the House and help find out EXACTLY how much public money is being effectively ‘ripped off’ by corporate welfare beneficiaries.

Am REALLY looking forward to getting that opportunity.

(Am already asking Prime Minister John Key the questions nobody else is:

like – “Is John Key personally profiting from NZ’s growing indebtedness?”

Why isn’t the Office of the Auditor-General investigating the use of Pansy Wong’s electorate office address for SHIPLEY & WONG LTD?

19 February 2011

Press Release: Penny Bright Independent candidate Botany by-election:

‘Politically explosive’ Public Meeting on central government corruption and privatisation’ Sunday 20 February 3-5pm Tangaroa College

Latest developments in the Pansy Wong scandal:

“The Communications Advisor for the Office of the Auditor-General confirmed yesterday that it had not yet decided  whether or not to investigate the use of Pansy Wong’s electorate office address as the business address of Shipley & Wong Ltd,” says ‘Anti-Corruption campaigner’, Penny Bright, Independent candidate in the Botany by-election.

“Has the current National Government Prime Minister John Key, been responsible for helping to cover-up arguably corrupt conduct which involves former National Party Prime Minister Jenny Shipley, who is a 50% shareholder in Shipley and Wong Ltd?”

(SHIPLEY & WONG – Companies Office Number: 1245430)

“Does Prime Minister John Key know of and approve of the registered company address of SHIPLEY & WONG LTD, changing to 735 Chapel Rd, Botany, on 11 June 2010, at a time that former National Party Prime Minister Jenny Shipley was a 50% shareholder, and her husband Burton Ross Shipley was a Director – along with Sammy Wong, Pansy Wong’s husband?

735 Chapel Rd Botany, being the address, at that time,  of Pansy Wong’s electorate office?”

“How is it that neither then current National Party MP (Pansy Wong) , or her husband; or a former National Party Prime Minister (Jenny Shipley) , or her husband, knew that this was wrong, and effectively constituted ‘misuse of public office for private gain’?  How ‘dodgy’ is that?”

“Why don’t New Zealand MPs have a ‘Code of Conduct’ with sanctions for breaches thereof?”

“Why isn’t the Office of the Auditor-General investigating? What’s the hold-up?”

“Why isn’t the Office of the Auditor-General proposing a ‘Code of Conduct for MPs as part of  the ‘systems solution’ for this problem?”

“Isn’t it time NZ had an ‘Independent Commission Against Corruption’ to help set up systems to enable genuine transparency and prevent corruption?”,

Ms Bright concludes.

NB: Kiwiblog! Unlike John Key – Winston Peters was never accused of feathering his own nest!

www.kiwiblog.co.nz/2011/02/not_one_objection.html#comments

Not one objection Add this story to Scoopit!.

Radio NZ reports:

Phil Goff says no one in caucus asked him to rule out working with the New Zealand First leader Winston Peters, should he be returned to Parliament.

Not even one Labour MP had the courage to say they had got it wrong in 2008, when they voted against the Privileges Committee report. Labour’s position continues to be that the following sequence of events is a coincidence:

  1. Phone call between Owen Glenn and Winston Peters from 1.26 pm to 1.32 pm
  2. A couple of minutes later Peters phones Brian Henry
  3. At 1.40 pm Brian Henry e-mails Owen Glenn with his bank account number stating “further to your discussion with my client at 1.30 NZ time I provide my bank details”

This is a level of proof that Peters knew of the donation that would meet beyond reasonable doubt in a murder trial. Yet Labour continue to embrace Peters ridiculous denials that he did not know anything at all about the donation. They are unconcerned he lied to their own Prime Minister, to Parliament, to the Privileges Committee, to the media and to the public – dozens and dozens of times.

Labour’s unanimious embracing of Peters also means that they have absolutely no concerns about large undisclosed donations from companies or individuals whom benefit from policies that Winston forced Labour into agreeing to, in Government. So their credibility on electoral finance issues remains zero.

MY REPLY:

  1. publicwatchdog (41) Says:
February 16th, 2011 at 6:12 pm You were part of a VERY effective media campaign to discredit Winston Peters and NZ First, before the 2008 election.

Particularly through the NZ Herald, which day after day had ‘MAN ON THE MOON headlines’ – slinging political mud at Winston Peters so NZ First wouldn’t make the 5% party vote thresh hold.

However – none of the ‘mud’ accused Winston Peters of attempting to feather his own nest.

Unlike my complaints about John Key over Tranz Rail.

The basis of my complaints to the Police and SFO against John Key were over his attempts to flush out commercially sensitive information about Tranz Rail from Cullen through an OIA, during a time it was an ‘item of business’ before the House, at a time John Key had an undisclosed ‘pecuniary interest’.

After the Police and SFO did nothing – I filed a private prosecution against John Key under s 228 of the Crimes Act.

Not ONE sentence of any of the above made its way into ANY pages of the NZ Herald.

I know this because I and another spent some hours at the Auckland Public Library – filming EVERY article about Winston Peters and NZ First, and looking in vain, for the slightest skerrick of information about my above complaints about John Key.

    There was NONE.

OIA request to the Minister of Justice Simon Power:The definition of ‘State capture’ in NZ, and to whom should a complaint should be made.

16 February 2011

Minister of Justice
Simon Power.

‘Open Letter’ / OIA request:
The definition of ‘State capture’ in NZ, and to whom should a complaint should be made.

Dear Minister,

After attending the 14th Transparency International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) in Bangkok last year
– I became acquainted with the form of ‘grand’ corruption known as ‘State capture’.

( ‘State capture’ is  ‘the phenomenon by which vested interests influence and manipulate the policy-making process to its advantage,…’

‘How to tackle the different faces of State Capture’ was the title of one of the workshops I attended at the 14th IACC.  The above quotation is taken from ‘session information’ about that workshop.)

1) Can you please provide the information which is relied upon in New Zealand that defines the form of ‘grand corruption’ known as  ‘State capture’.

2) Please provide the information which advises the ‘lead agency’ in New Zealand to whom a complaint about ‘State capture’ should be addressed.

Yours sincerely,
